There is value in specialization, do one thing and do it right. This is the case with La Barque Bleue, a small restaurant where I was invited. Other than deserts, it serves only seafood. We had two types of fish, served whole. While this is not a type of food I order very often, it tasted good. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone with a hankering for fresh seafood.

Came across this delightful and excellent seafood restaurant entirely by accident walking around Lyon.
We were just after a quick oyster stop, but André, Patricia and Charlotte were such incredible hosts and the rest of the food looked so magnificent we had to come back the next day.
A small family run shop, the quality of the food was anything but. Their specialty of whole charcoal grilled fish had plenty of options, are fresh, and cooked tender to perfection!
Their oysters were expertly shucked, maintaining plenty of brine and chilled to the perfect temperature.
Their atmosphere is full of hustle and bustle, laughter, conversation between friends, and with the owner.
After we finished our first visit, we had a wholesome chat with André, though we don’t really speak French and he only spoke a little English, we still managed to muddle our way through and learning about each other’s cultures.
We shared a schnapps together and we left feeling like the world had just become a much better place.

It is a small, decent and cozy restaurant in Lyon. We did not make a reservation since it was outside of city center but during the hot season it is better you do it because it has limited space. They did not have shrimps at that moment. It was a shame to be honest but salmon and sea bass were very good. Tramisu and cholocate cake was also recommended.

Fantastic! Some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. I’ll be dreaming of the tuna tartare and the peppers for months, I’m sure. Lovely wine and wonderful, warm, funny and fun staff. I want to go back now, at 7am and do it all again. I also need recipes.

It is a cozy and intimate place with wonderful service. Plenty of wine on hand too. The chef and several customers indulged my mediocre French after dinner. Excellent food and service. We had a great time. The sashimi were the best I’ve ever ate. Also the grilled sea bass, loup de mer was amazing.

La carte est lumineuse (à tous les sens du terme) le service est rapide efficace et souriant, tout comme le patron qui a toujours un bon mot et les pieds bien ancrés sur terre. L'ambiance est intimiste, calme et détendue, et la clientèle composée de beaucoup d'habitués (ce qui est un gage de qualité).
Un choix suffisant fruits de mer et de poissons, ainsi que de bons vins à des prix tout à fait abordables. Je recommande le saumon fumé à la ficelle à partager à l'apéritif.Traduction
This is the third time I've truly enjoyed lunch at La Barque Bleue. Twice I was tempted by a whole roasted John Dory, reminiscent of the restaurant's logo, and once by a whole roasted sea bass with thyme. Each time, it was perfectly cooked and an absolute delight! The menu is bright (in every sense of the word), and the service is fast, efficient, and friendly, as is the owner, who always has a kind word and is firmly grounded. The atmosphere is intimate, calm, and relaxed, and the clientele is made up of many regulars (which is a guarantee of quality). A sufficient selection of seafood and fish is served, as well as good wines at very affordable prices. I recommend the string-smoked salmon to share as an aperitif.

Super restaurant de poissons! Les poissons sont frais, cuisinés simplement mais avec une cuisson parfaitement maîtrisée ! Le produit est respecté et on profite de toute sa saveur! L'accueil est agréable et l'ambiance conviviale. Je recommande pour les amateurs de poissons

Excellent restaurant, je me suis régalé du début à la fin : carpaccio de saumon superbement assaisonné, un thon mi-cuit délicieux avec des graines de sésame (et la portion était très bien). j’ai terminé par des framboises accompagné de chantilly, elles étaient super fraîches. 날씨가 좋아서 테라스에 앉아서 식사를 했는데 분위기도 좋고 넘 기분 좋은 식사였다! 가족이 운영하는 작은 해산물 전문 레스토랑인데 생선 퀄리티가 기대했던 것보다 넘 싱싱했고 가격에 비해 양도 푸짐해서 배부르게 먹을 수 있었다. 식전 빵과 와인까지 만족스러웠고 서비스도 친절해서 다시 리옹에 오게 된다면 또 오고 싶은 곳. 연어 타르타르를 먹었는데 꼭 추천하고 싶은 메뉴 😋

The weather was nice, so I sat on the terrace for dinner. The atmosphere was great and it was a truly delightful meal! This small, family-run seafood restaurant, the quality of the fish was surprisingly fresh, and the portions were generous for the price, leaving me feeling full. The bread and wine before the meal were also satisfying, and the service was friendly. If I ever return to Lyon, I'd definitely come back. I tried the salmon tartare, and it's a dish I highly recommend! 😋
